I have an editorial background and over 10 years experience of working with words.
I began my career as a journalist, writing news stories and features for a weekly newspaper in London. Following this, I worked as a freelance reporter and later, as an editor – in print and online – for a number of charities, including five years at a major UK health charity.
This means I have experience in writing about a wide range of subjects, for a wide range of audiences, using very different tones.
I am available for hire as a freelance reporter, feature writer, editor or language consultant.
There are many differences between writing and presenting text for print media and online. Digital media requires you to think about your text differently, how it is presented and the words it uses are very important.
I can write, edit or source copy for use on your organisation’s website and can be hired on a freelance basis. Contact me to find out more.
In previous jobs, I have educated and taught staff how to create engaging, interesting text for websites and other digital media. This often happened in a workshop environment, which involved a short presentation, explanation and observation of websites and hands-on interactive learning.
Workshops usually last up to two hours and can include up to 20 people at a time. If you’d like the staff to learn the secrets of writing for the web and how they can increase the traffic to your website, contact me to find out more.
